The Fundamentals Program is our most popular pathway for students of all ranks and skill levels. Building on the foundation provided by the Basics Program, it takes students a step further in their Jiu-Jitsu journey.
While the Basics Program focuses on essential movements, self-defense applications, and an introduction to the primary positions of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (such as guard, mount, side control, and back control), the Fundamentals Program expands this knowledge into a deeper study of the art.
In Fundamentals, students explore:
Core Positions: Understanding the dynamics of control, escapes, and transitions in the major Jiu-Jitsu positions.
Essential Techniques: Learning high-percentage submissions, sweeps, and guard passes that form the backbone of effective Jiu-Jitsu.
Conceptual Understanding: Gaining insight into balance, leverage, pressure, and timing—principles that make techniques work beyond raw strength.
Sparring & Live Training: Carefully structured to introduce students to resistance, problem solving, and the strategic side of Jiu-Jitsu in a safe environment.
The goal of the Fundamentals Program is not only to sharpen technique but also to cultivate critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience on the mat—qualities that carry into everyday life.
